Information on LGBTQPA

Welcome to LGBTQPA. If you couldn't guess from the title, this blog was created to give you information on all things LGBTQPA, from global issues on the matter, controversial information, or just clarifying what it is.

First of all, I think that it would make sense to explain what LGBTQPA actually stands for. LGBTQPA is the acronym for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Pansexual, and Asexual.
Now that that is out of the way, i think it's time to clear up what each of these terms stands for, which i will now endeavor to do (even if you already know some, if not all of them. you can always just skip over the definitions >.<)

Lesbian: a homosexual woman (a woman who is sexually attracted to other women)
Gay: a homosexual man (a man who is sexually attracted to other men)
Bisexual: a man or woman who is sexually attracted to both men and women
Transgendered: a person who feels trapped in the wrong gendered body (e.g. a person who feels like they are male but were born in a female body)
Queer: an informal or derogatory way of referring to a homosexual man or woman, more often used instead of "gay"
Pansexual: someone who isn't limited or inhibited in sexual preference in regards to gender or activity. (more attracted to personality than gender)
Asexual: a person who has no sexual attraction to either gender.

Until next time (>.<)

  1. "Queer: an informal or derogatory way of referring to a homosexual man or woman, more often used instead of "gay"" -pls educate yrself b4 presenting yrself as an authority. seriously, if this was the definition of 'queer', why would we include the letter Q?
My understanding is that Q stood for Questioning and A stood for Allies.

    1. Queer is a term thats been reclaimed in some usage I've encountered, such as genderqueer or in fact just queer in reference to sexuality; either referring to a more amiguous identity not easily fit into any of the more defined alternatives. Not that questioning is not also a valid interpretation, but lets be real; we've got a multitude of acronyms with a multitude of interpretations and no singular "official" version that trumps all others. A I've heard as either asexual or allies as well. For instance, the acronym I'm most familiar with being used most recently in my area is: LGBTQP* and standing for Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer Panromantic Other.
I will however point out that the definition posted here for Transgender is actually only applicable to transsexual. Transgender simply means someone who does not identify with the gender they were assigned at birth and encompasses identities such as non-binary and gender-fluid individuals AS WELL AS transsexuals, to the best of my understanding.

  2. You forgot "R" for sexually retarded. As a member of the lgbtqpar community I consider myself to have a retarded sexual orientation as I have no clue what gender I am, what it is that I want to put my dick in or even if I have a dick at all.... I'm completely sexually retarded. Please, stop oppressing sexually retarded people and correct your article to be inclusive of people like me.

    1. Your satire is a good example of the future. Pandora's box has been unlocked. No telling what people will be legally humping/humped by 10 years from now. I expect Pedophilia will be legalized. I'm already seeing that ball rolling now.
